Making Music Tasmania works state wide and is committed to building, supporting and reinvigorating the music industry within Tasmania. As well as offering recording opportunities to a range of artists across Tasmania, MMT runs music writing and production workshops in schools for students from the age of 12 to 18. These workshops are designed to empower aspiring young musicians and producers to unleash their creativity and master the entire music production process.
Whether it's a single-day immersive experience or a series of engaging lessons, these workshops cover everything from capturing the initial spark of inspiration to crafting a professional-grade release. The comprehensive curriculum takes participants through recording techniques, additional production elements, and the art of mixing to ensure their music shines with brilliance. These workshops then finish with a crash course on releasing and marketing your music. All participants leave the workshops as a published artist, with a song they helped write on all major streaming platforms.
The workshops link directly to the Australian Curriculum and cross curricular priorities outlined within ACARA. The content can also be adjusted to suit a variety of age groups and their corresponding learning outcomes. Through these workshops, Making Music Tasmania wishes to cultivate a new passion in students for the Arts and help young people recognise in themselves the potential for a career in music. The ultimate aim of this, to unite students across the state in their passion for music creation, performance and production and create a rich Arts Community across our beautiful state.

Meet Oska,
Owner & Director
Oska Duggan is a Hobart based Music Producer, Audio Engineer and Educator. Graduating from the Conservatorium of Music in 2020, Oska has since built a career within the local music industry, working on major festivals, indie films, local political campaigns as well as a host of artist’s projects. Oska is committed to helping the Tasmanian music industry, one interactive workshop at a time and firmly believes that growing our state’s musical contribution starts in the classroom. - “For years Tasmania has been left out of the musical conversation. Everybody should have the opportunity to learn the skills required to take that initial spark of inspiration all the way through to a polished commercial release. Today, it is far easier to act as your own label, to write, record and release music without the need of external input.”
“I listen to music differently now, in a good way. Understanding how music is created and produced has deepened my enjoyment of music. Oska has been a great teacher and guide, encouraging our creativity and involvement in creating music. I enjoyed listening and learning about different music genres I wouldn't have normally listened to and appreciated the music because of how Oska explained it to us.”
